OFF WITH THERE HEADS!!!

I was gonna post this at the Sync Whole but I decided to keep over here for a while. I feel my exuberance has flooded that site and I couldn't possibly wait to post this new stuff I got for you. So grab a cuppa tea and some crisps or some Beer and chips because the rant weaving that lies ahead might give some further insight into the secrets of one Mr Tim Burton and his intrepid pal Johnny Depp.

WARNING!!!This may possibly leave one famished and just plain....bored. Actors resonate every role they've played whenever they play a new role. They carry on and morph. I think the same can be said about Directors. But...What is it with Tim Burton? Whats his deal? Tim Burton's motive is clear. $$$. But to attain and maintain the "cult" status he projects, other factors must remain a constant in order to keep his fan base mesmerized and perplexed. Perhaps some of these themes play on the subconsciousness (IE-symbols,metaphor-ECT) But as most of you know already that... is something a person could get stuck obsessing about for a long long time.

What spawned this random post was the accidental viewing of the newest trailer for Alice In Wonderland. Unable to embed so here's an HD link.

I picked a few items to talk about, and expanded them a little...

The Tree of Whaaa?

The first thing that my brain started mixing while viewing the Alice trailer was the Tree of course. Alice falls down the rabbit hole portal at the foot of the tree; In sleepy Hollow the tree holds the souls of the damned and happens to be the residence of the executioner Headless Horseman(HH of course.)

The Axe...or anything metallic and sharp with Depp attached to it

Sometimes objects stand out and demand respect and attention. For some reason the axe has been making itself known lately(in my headpspace). The Queen of hearts from the new ALICE movie, Helena Bonham Carter.

And above, in sleepy Ho(ll)ow we get to see Johnny Depp wielding one as well. The tree and axe share their existence in this plane called consensus reality. Perhaps there is a dark metaphor being employed here. For eye think that the headless horse man could interchange with the executioner. And Mr Depp ritualistically engages in the craft. Whether he knows it or not. He HAS to dance with the forces of control. John is Captain Sparrow quite literally. He mimics his way through the jazz and gracefully takes his proceeds all the while damaging people like myself. But he doesn't know that.. nor does he care. He's a pirate for f@#k sakes!!!

Mr Dead Man Depp

Jake Kotze posted the amazing comparison image below at The Sync Whole in the post called Dead Man's Rope. In the above note the combination of the scarf and top hat. The scarf has come up at Richard Arrowsmith'g blog Black Dog Star. Funny how it relates to Christina Ricci and all... Moving on...

Mr Depp plays the Mad Hatter which is a most righteous role for the deviant devilman. Here he is running across the table to meet Alice. Note wind mill in the back ground.

And in sleepy hollow he's an inspector, quite like the role in FROM HELL....

Queen of broken hearts

Depp has starred alongside Helena Bonham Carter in many o' films. She has an occult ambiance that follows her like Depp. I'm now visualizing Johnny playing Edward Norton's role in fight club...wow....anyways. Helen and Depp have been called twins separated at birth by the media...

She explains, "We have the same frown line and there's certain similarities between the two of us, according to Tim - we always like to camouflage ourselves to the hilt when it comes to playing parts and we both loathe watching ourselves."

"And we're both pale and tubercular and have big eyes. Tim's always said we would be great in a silent movie. I think he definitely thinks I should've been in a silent movie because I talk too much."

For some reason this... reminds me of this...

Peace is in the flux....

The big-headed Queen of Hearts reminds me of a grey alien...

Good observing as per. I had nothing when I viewed her character. The Alien thing works nicely. I think there's a few exaggerations of the head in this upcoming flick.

Hi Will, Looking back at my older posts I was thinking, damn I can't believe people read these things. I'll leave the long posts for you and Violator ; P

Haha, this post was teeney-tiny! Encey weencey! Itty bitty! Microscopic! At least when compared to me and A few Shots and BlackDogStar :D

But anyways, fun stuff. I just watched the old Disney version last night (made in 1951! Can you believe that?), so thanks for this! Alice going into the tree is certainly an interesting alternative to the rabbit hole. Tree of Knowledge/Life, axis munde, cross of crucified saviour... plenty of baggage there.

Thanks Violator!

I've have a few drinks so I'm feeling a little smiley. Especially where I read comments like this. I'm sure anyone who reads this stuff knows that I kind of set em up, and leave em open to knock down. I'm half way through Shaman's FTDOD part 2, Then its over to you, Then its over to Richard's, and then Jake's...I'm gonna be full o' light by Monday. No time for gloominess.

Really excited to read your post. Heard good things so far.
