The philosopher's... blob?

To put it simply the blob is a metaphor in movies for consciousness. Or a levi's state of mind. This blob character takes on the forms we give it with our intentions fueled by emotions. Therefore the blob shows us how to act as well. Kinda like 'the herd mentality' Which we all know can be dangerous. After researching this topic for only a short while I came across this clip featuring Terrance McKenna. Thanks to TMK I believe 'it' is the philosophers stone. We are starting to see that the blob needs reforming...refining. A 'select' group of a few people in the past have stepped up to this transcendental latter and attempted to get the others thinking about the shape of this rock. But some just want to turn lead into gold. Or some use that novelty to acquire funding in order to pursue the great work. Regardless its all alchemy. A timeless, placeless, mindless pursuit leading to understanding based on intuition and confirmation of your coincidences. So break out the retort and fire up the kiln...


Princess Mononoke



This movie features a blob substance taking on different shapes and colors relative to the state of emotion intended. Like a mood ring. The main character Ashitaka gets poisoned while fighting a giant boar possessed by this blob stuff. His arm is touched by a blob tentacle after he shoots the pig in one of it's red eyes. Then he follows the blob attack by another eye shot that kills the boar. He is banished from the village and begins his quest in search of understanding the curse. Along the way he comes face to face with human experience or heard mentality. He is submerged in a world clouded by hate. All the thorny, poisonous branches that are apart of this artificial tree try to block him from his goal. But with the help of a new found love he is one persistent blue warrior.

Lets examine examples of the blob in movies...But first...

As requested by Violator I was told to check out the toaster dance in Ghostbusters 2. Upon arrival I found another piece to my puzzle..well actually a big piece. I had been missing this 'piece' in order to begin my next video. Not really missing...waiting right?

In this movie the Ghostbusters we come across the fleshy pink blob goop that feeds off the emotions of the city of Oz I mean uhhh New York. It takes shape of the dominating energy. As I said, Violater directed me to the toaster scene in which EGOn(ego oz) drops some 'blob' in the toaster. They play some upbeat music and the toaster takes on a life of its own dancing about. Taking a static material form and giving it artificial consciousness via blob coating. This movie is loaded with synchromistic goodness. I'm not getting into all the other 'routine' stuffness today folks. But for some reason the toaster has been popping up allot lately. MOM can I have a POP tart?

This movie template resembles another blob related template. Teenage mutant ninja turtles. Who are heroes created by the green Ooze. They are again a metaphor representing different minds with positive goals. The artists.

But that will have to wait...
